This fall, a group of Gardeners has been helping out at Rushton Farms, in Newtown Square, which is part of the Willistown Conservation Trust. We have partnered with the Conservancy in the past to design and build a rain garden and to plant a wildflower garden. Willistown Conservation Trust is a non-profit land trust working to protect the rural beauty of the 28,000 acres surrounding Willistown, Pennsylvania.  They are dedicated to permanently protecting our countryside from development and inspiring in people a lifelong love of the land and the natural world.

This summer they have been growing and harvesting crops such as beans, peppers, and tomatoes and donating them to the Chester County Food Bank. A small, dedicated group of ladies has been weeding and harvesting for a few hours a week to help Rushton staff get the bounty of summer’s end to needy families in Chester County. What could be more worthwhile?
