Ronald McDonald House and The Grange

Ronald McDonald House

Michele Spence, Peggy Shaver, Eileen Longacre, her daughter Amanda and I descended on the Ronald McDonald House to flower the rooms.  We enjoyed the time to work together at such an important facility.

We came armed with a variety of containers and flowers with wonderful fall colors, textures and shapes.  It is amazing what you can get at the local flower market.  In about two hours we put together 10 arrangements—5 large and 5 medium.

The Ronald McDonald House supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope.  They opened their first house here in Philadelphia in 1974 and now there are 350 houses in 38 countries.

The Grange

Tuesday, November 3, 2015 was our last official workday for The Gardeners this year at The Historic Grange.  Anne Barnett had a good representation from the club–Cathy Decker, DeeDee Heyward, Michele Spence, Wyn Coghlan, Betsy Crowell, Sandy Beale, Connie Stelzenmuller and her dog Butter, and Sarah Collier.

We will see you April 2016 back at The Grange for our first meeting of the year.
