AD HOC COMMITTEE ON THE JUDGING PROGRAM

Every five years, The Garden Club of America adopts a five-year purpose-driven strategy
to guide the organization and to ensure a healthy future, and on March 4, 2019, the
Executive Board adopted the Strategic Plan: 2019-2020.

As one of the strategic areas of focus included in Governance and Leadership, the Board
determined that an ad hoc committee should be formed to explore ways to welcome
interested membersinto the judging program, expedite the approval process, and foster a
culture of mentorship.

To this end, the president formed the Ad Hoc Committee on the Judging Program on
October 15, 2019.

The committee members are:
Jane Moore, Horticulture, Zone V, Chairman
Carrie Waterman, Horticulture, Zone I
Janice Fergus, Floral Design, Zone XII
Clare Stewart, Floral Design, Horticulture, Photography, Zone VI
Lynn Shiverick, Photography, Zone X

The committee is charged with examining these issues/questions and reporting back to
the Board on or before March 2, 2020.
