The Gardeners supports its community service projects, and its annual outreach grants, from two sources of revenue: annual member dues, and an annual party and auction held in a member’s home. Outreach grants, mainly to horticulture and environmental organizations, are considered each spring. Grants are approved by the executive committee of The Gardeners, and presented to the club membership in May of each year. Once a year The Gardeners’ Conservation Committee organizes a plant sale for club members, mainly dividing and sharing plants from our own gardens. The proceeds of this sale, go to the Student Conservation Association, to support a scholar from that organization who is working with a conservation project or doing work in environmental education.
